Apologies for the late post. I’ve been busy writing, trying to finish Misjudged. I gave myself a deadline, and I stuck to it. This means I had to skip over a few scenes in order to get to the end, but I wrote summaries of what needs to happen in them so when I come back to the book again, they will be easy to flesh out. The first draft clocked in at 75k. Since I am missing some scenes, it will actually be a longer first draft, but I already know of a few scenes/characters/subplots that need to be cut or combined, which should bring me back down to a reasonable length.
Tomorrow I start back up on the hefty revisions for my super secret WIP. I’m so excited to get back to it. I finally know how to fix the problems! My love interest is getting a personality & hobby makeover, his mystery will be more foreground because it didn’t really work when he hid everything from my protagonist. My protagonist’s parents are switching roles (Mom is taking Dad’s purpose and vice versa, it works better this way) and their subplot is changing. It’ll be a lot of work, but it’ll be worth it.
Do you guys take writing breaks? I can’t even imagine doing that!
